Monster Series by JM Darhower
I don’t even know where to start! I’ve been thoroughly spoiled by Ms. Darhower. This series was my very first mafia romance/fiction book and it’s nearly impossible to find anything better! Monster in His Eyes gave me Naz who is arguably the best anti-hero you’ll probably ever meet. I was concerned about the age difference between Naz and Karissa in the beginning but it turns out it was completely unnecessary because they are just perfect for each other. Never have a couple been so different from each other yet so perfect and thoroughly in love. A large portion of the series is written in Naz’s point of view which is fairly uncommon in romance genre, most I’ve read are in the female’s point of view. Ms. Darhower really knows her characters and even if characters may have similar jobs or realities, she does a really great job of making each character so unique.
I had purchased Monster in His Eyes out of curiosity and since have turned into “auto-buy” mode when it comes to J. M. Darhower. I have yet to find a mafia romance series that compares to Monster in His Eyes, not just in the originality but also in her writing ability. Ms. Darhower knows how to hook you and comes up with the most sadistically sweet lines. Like I said, I’ve been thoroughly spoiled by Ms. Darhower. I have yet to find another author who can give you the perfect blend of Sopranos, the Notebook, Rambo and The Godfathers like her.
I love this series so much that my Kindle version of this book is practically completely highlighted.
